SCH.cx – Gitee Releases 2020 Open Source Annual Report: Java Ranks First Among Languages and PHP Ranks Third. Today, Code Cloud Gitee, a code hosting service, released its 2020 open source annual report. The report shows that Java ranks first in the proportion of languages, and minority languages are growing rapidly. Although there is a significant drop compared to last year (50%), Java is still the most used language (38%). The top five languages have changed little from last year. PHP surpassed Python to become the third.
In addition, the report shows that Rust and Dart have maintained rapid growth for two consecutive years. Although Yi language has reached the top of the growth rate list, its total amount is still very scarce compared with other languages, and there is still a large distance from mainstream programming languages.
